NES Fircroft, Altrincham
NES Fircroft’s 8,500 ft2 office in the Foundation Building in Altrincham, Manchester represents a careful curation of materials and products to minimise enviornmental footprint while creating a modern, comfortable workspace.
Carbon emissions reduction
Throughout the design process, the designers, client, contractor and suppliers worked together to identify and incorporate low carbon, sustainable solutions.
Circular Economy furniture was a key part of this, including remanufactured booths, pods, tables, chairs and all 96 electric sit-stand desks. These were remanufactured to as-new condition by Rype Office.
8,900 kgCO₂e of carbon emissions was saved by these furniture choices as 2 tonnes of furniture saw a second life.
Recycled pastic table tops
For coffee tables, RePlastic tops were chosen. These were made from recycled post-consumer plastic waste, specifically discarded black plant pots and white goods.
