Recovery Bookcases
Created by Rype Office

Recovery Bookcases are stylish and sturdy, providing quiet breakout spaces in busy offices, while also displaying and storing books and publications.
Double-sided, Recovery Bookcases are freestanding to allow light to pass over and around them, while creating hushed cosy spaces.
Modular construction means Recovery Bookcases can be configured to suit a space, changed when needed and easily moved between offices.

Each Recovery Bookcase is customised, so shelves, edges and end panels match your colour palette.

Recovery Bookcases are usually made from waste desk- and table tops, either from your office or others’. This saves you money and helps the planet.
Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) and Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) are made from wood chips (mostly from forests) and glue.
MFC and MDF are ubiquitous in offices; they are cheap and durable and are the go-to materials for office desk- and table tops, as well as some cabinets and pedestals.
Unfortunately, they are uneconomical to recycle (because the end product is dust, for which there is no market) and so one scratch can result in a desktop joining the 29,000 tonnes of office desks going to landfill every year in the UK.
The Recovery Bookcase was designed to address this challenge. It provides an elegant new home for waste desktops.
